American Chrome Company is proud to provide premium quality OEM grade heavy truck accessories for over 25+ years. Quality is not just a word we use, it is the defining difference in how American Chrome manufactures our products and why our customers have made us one of the most successful chrome and stainless suppliers in North America.

When choosing American Chrome, customers choose quality. To the naked eye, the finish on a cheap chrome hub cap can appear just as bright and shiny on the shelf as the finish on an OEM-grade product. For most customers, quality only becomes an issue after the initial purchase, when the product is exposed to the elements and begins to rust, chip, peel, and corrode. The following explains the different plating and material choices available, and how to evaluate each for cost and performance:

Infinity® ABS chrome is our most popular product line due to its long life and high performance. Infinity ABS chrome products are manufactured from high temperature, high impact automotive ABS resins, and are ideal for applications involving extreme environments, where road damage and rust is a frequent problem.

When nothing less than a brilliant, high gloss shine will do, American Chrome's Super Premium® chrome products are the choice for you. Super Premium chrome products feature long-lasting, high-gloss shine, durable mirror finish, and excellent rust and corrosion resistance. Using a proprietary process, Super Premium chrome products have multiple layers of chrome and nickel plating. All chrome is NOT created equal, and our customers experience the difference.

Generically, many companies use the term “stainless steel” to imply quality and rust resistance for their products. However, stainless steel is available in many different quality grades, and while they are all referred to collectively as “stainless steel”, only the highest grades of stainless steel exhibits true rust-proof behavior. Additionally, only the highest quality steels have a brilliant 'mirror finish', which is an indication of the quality of the surface polish and ability to reflect light. 304-grade stainless steel has the highest nickel and chromium content, which makes it one of the few true “stainless” steel varieties. True 304-grade stainless steel will NEVER rust. American Chrome is proud to manufacture quality products in 304-grade stainless steel.

430-grade stainless steel is rust RESISTANT, not rust PROOF. 430-grade stainless steel will rust and corrode unlike higher quality grades, and less expensive products are typically made from this lower quality stainless steel. Lower quality grades of stainless steel typically have a lower gloss shine, and exhibit 'clouding' and hazing effects when exposed to the elements over time. When evaluating competing products and comparing prices, verify which grade of stainless steel the product contains, and what kind of finish is available.
